This is an original pastel and watercolor painting by E.C. Chapin (Emma C. Chapin) from 1877. Painting measures 15" x 19" and has been expertly framed behind glass. Chapin was a noted early California artist the became San Diego's first professional artist when she settled there in 1881. She died in 1911 after making many trips there prior to her settling in San Diego in 1881.
