"Antinea," Ivory & Bronze Figure, Inscribed D.H. Chiparus, a Chryselephantine Art Deco Statue ~ ca. 1950

Created in the manner of the masterful works of the father of the art deco period Demetre H Chiparus, entitled "Antinea." Depicting a scantily dressed maiden standing with both her arms raised above her head, hands are crossed and supporting a cape that adorns her. Adopted from the Ballet Russes came the most famous dance of all "Scheheranzade." Inscribed D.H. Chiparus, aprox size 26" high by 10" length and 5" deep. Surmounted on a tri color deco marble base. Lovely detail, color to the ivory, and certain to make the Art Deco fan's heart skip!
Her weight is 50 pounds 4 oz. The height of the base is 8” and the statue itself is 18 7/8”.
