Notarized Gold Rush-era Pay Document, New Idria Mining Company, Monterey County ~ 1858 $850, shipping INCLUDED (US ONLY) Two lined sheets, attached, attesting to payment of one Cruz Garcia, a worker at the New Idria (Monterey County) Quicksilver Mines in 1858. Not much there now, a desolate place in San Benito County, poisoned by years of Quicksilver mining but rich in California history. Nice document attesting to early mining in the state, notarized and bearing some recognizable early signatures. |
