Antique Saudi Arabian Family Sword ~ ca. 1900 $18,575, plus shipping! This sword was owned by the late "His Highness, Amir Saud Ibn Abdulla Ibn Jiluwi" Governor of Al Hasa, Eastern Province Saudi Arabia during the 1940's and '50's. The hilt and scabbard are solid silver and some camel skin was used. Inside of the scabbard is wood. It is difficult to describe and must be viewed to appreciate. The AMIR personally presented it to consignor's father as a token of friendship in 1953, thus making only two owners until its current caretaker. This piece was used by Ibn Jiluwi when he fought at the King's side in 1914 to liberate Saudi Arabia. In modern times it was used for capitol punishment by the AMIR exclusively. A National Treasure of Saudi Arabia, the sword is currently available for reacquisition. Resaonable offers may be considered. |
